Good Friday 2012 Walk of Witness

The churches in Barry joined together for an Easter Walk of Witness.  Commencing at the Parade Gardens, The Knap, over 200 people took up the call to walk to proclaim their witness to the Lord.  Leading the devotions was the Archbishop of Wales, Barry Morgan with the ministers and members of the various churches in Barry taking part with readings and prayers.  The stops were at Barry Railway Station, The One Stop in Broad Street, A. G. Adams Funeral Directors in Gladstone Road, King's Square, Holton Road and New Jerusalem Church, Tynewydd Road.  When we arrived at King's Square we were joined by another 50 or more people plus the Salvation Army Band who accompanied us as we sang "When I survey the wondrous cross".  It was good to have the support of local dignitaries and our MP, Alan Cairns and AM, Jane Hutt.  The pictures below show the cover of the Order of Service, Assembly at the Parade Gardens, the stop at Barry Station, leaving Barry Station, the stop at A. G. Adams, Salem Secretary, Tom Lafford and Minister, Rev. Clive Jones carrying the cross [made especially by students at Barry College] from the One-Stop through Broad Street and Holton Road to King's Square, and the crowds at King's Square.
